DEPUTY HEADTEACHER FOR MILLSIDE SCHOOL
Salary Range: Leadership 3 – 6 (London Fringe)
This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational, dynamic and ambitious middle leader who is ready to take the next steps on their leadership path. The candidate will use their knowledge, skills and experience from either primary or secondary in either a mainstream or special school setting, to maximise the educational and personal outcomes for this cohort of pupils with increasingly complex needs. Experience of successfully working with young people with SEMH difficulties is essential.
The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills, have high emotional intelligence, be highly resilient, an outstanding team player and able to lead by example, modelling the highest professional standards to secure the best possible progress and educational and personal outcomes. They must have the confidence to deputise for the Millside School Head of Centre as required. A strong work ethic and a good sense of humour is essential, as is putting the needs of vulnerable children and their families at the heart of all their decision making.
There are currently 54 young people on roll at Millside School, all of whom have a Statement of Special Educational Needs, or Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), for SEMH difficulties, with a capacity for 60. However, an increasing number have been diagnosed as having an ASD and many of these have additional diagnosed special needs such as a specific learning difficulty or a speech and language and / or a social communication difficulty.
